Colorado Mesa University (CMU), is located near downtown Grand Junction. The university houses a total of about 11,000 students who benefit from a strong community with its smaller class sizes as well as various clubs and organizations.
There is ample opportunity to form friendships and networks in campus accommodation through the various university clubs, which can be anything from academic organizations to sports related clubs.
University offers many different subjects within a wide range of study areas, which gives you a good chance of finding something for your particular study needs. These subjects and studies are taught in modern learning facilities, where in almost 90% of classrooms there are less than 40 students, so that you get the most out of your academic experience on your study stay and a closer community with your fellow students.

Grand Junction and the city's nearby areas is a true outdoor paradise. With a population of 135,000, students can enjoy the good of major cities, but simply without crowded streets, hectic traffic and overly busy airports.
Grand Junction, is known as a safe city and an area that is heavily trusted to give residents of the city an inclusive sense of community. Thus, there are often cultural activities in the open air within art, music and theatre. In addition, various festivals, concerts, markets and other cultural events are held all year round.
If you're adventurous and an outdoor person, Grand Junction is the ideal destination for you. Mountain biking, riverrafting, climbing, skiing and hiking are plenty of opportunities. The Colorado National Monument is just a 20-minute drive from campus to experience true nature.
If you're a fan of skiing, powderhorn ski resort is just 40 miles from campus. Other popular destinations that are also nearby are Glenwoods Springs, which is known for its "mineral hot springs," the Black Canyon and the ski slopes of Vail, Aspen and Telluride. If you want some variety from the beautiful scenery, Las Vegas is 500 miles from Grand Junction.
CMU Residence Halls, CMU's on-campus student residences include Wi-Fi, laundry rooms, computer labs, cable TV, a bed and security 18 hours a day. The homes are divided into 'Traditional Halls' and 'Suites &Semi-Suites'.
'Traditional Halls' is reminiscent of many dormitories, where you share a bathroom with 4-6 other residents. However, they are cleaned twice a day, every weekday and once a day on weekends.
'Suites & Semi-Suites' includes an en-suite in each suite that you share with your roommate(s). You are responsible for cleaning the bathroom in your suite, but the common areas around the student housing are cleaned by the staff.
