About the city 🌇

Gibraltar colloquially known as The Rock, (or simply 'Gib'), is an overseas territory of sitting at the entrance to the Mediterranean Sea. It is bordered b to the north and the people of Gibraltar are ferociously loyal British citizens despite being bilingual in English and Spanish. During your time there you should take the cable car to see macaques. Gibraltar is home to the only population of wild monkeys living in Europe, and they've become one of the most popular attractions. Although they are inoffensive creatures, keep a safe distance from these animals as they are able to grab the food from your hand which you probably at some point have stumbled upon on in some of the funny videos on your social media feed.

At 6.7 square kilometres, Gibraltar may be small, but that is what makes it so unique. Everything is walkable, bikeable or a short bus ride away, meaning you will have more time to explore, travel and have fun when you’re not studying. It is home to a welcoming multicultural community that will make you feel at home as soon as you arrive. You will be free to join clubs, societies or simply make the most of Gibraltar’s lively leisure and restaurant scene.

The old town is also worthy to take a tour of. A short walking distance from the airport, Gibraltar's Old Town could be a miniature version of any British city if it weren't for the differences in architecture and the almost permanent blue skies. It's a great area to visit for the traditional English-style pubs. Make sure to also visit the Great Siege Tunnels. They are both a symbol of local history and resourceful engineering, making a visit to the Great Siege Tunnels carved by hand in the late 1700s one of the top things to do in Gibraltar.

Seeing two Continents from the same spot can also become your everyday sight. Stand on the highest cliff, at 1312 ft high, and see Europe and Africa at the same time, with views of Gibraltar, Spain, and Morocco.

Locals also enjoy the St. Michael's Cave In addition to being one of the most spectacular natural attractions in Gibraltar, St. Michael's Cave also doubles as an auditorium. The acoustics are perfect for live music concerts and regular cultural events take place at this venue.
