About the city 🌇

Geneva is so much more than just the well-known traditional Swiss chocolates, cheeses and banks. Located on the iconic Lake Geneva, you'll find one of the globe's economic hubs that has attracted multinational companies and organizations to the city of 500,000 people. The serious world-class luxury is not a rare sight. That's all you can expect in the superbanks and Rolex's hometown, where the cityscape is often marked by millimetre-perfect tailored suits and supercars.

For international students, it's just a positive element, since Webster University Geneva and the high standards of the city of Geneva itself give you a huge advantage on your resume. This is what many international students as well as international business people have found out over the years, which has made the city in the heart of Europe an internationally diversified area where 25% are international students and a whopping 40% are so-called expats.

Many Europeans find it quite easy to adapt in Geneva, where French is primarily the main language, but English is used frequently all over the place. You therefore decide whether you want to focus on improving your English, learn French or even take home a completely third language with you, as Switzerland also uses the language Schweizerdeutsch, which may sound like German in some ways.

What makes Geneva unique is in particular the attractive outdoor lifestyle culture that is possible to experience for adventurous nature lovers. Due to Geneva's fabulous location between the snow-filled Alps and the leafy Jura Mountains, you can get some adrenaline by skiing, snowboarding or glacier hiking. Besides, you won't be fooled by the possibility of mountain biking, climbing and even paragliding.

If you experience Geneva's experiences in record time, it's worth mentioning that the city is among the best connected cities to the rest of Europe, and incredibly close to France if you want a little getaway weekend.
